About DividendDesk
A free set of calculators for anyone thinking through dividend investing — no sign-up, nothing stored, just fast answers.
DividendDesk is a small set of free calculators for people thinking through dividend investing — how much income a position pays, what reinvesting does to it over time, whether a yield is actually good, what it'd take to live off dividends, and roughly how much of that income you keep after tax.
There's no sign-up, no account, and nothing you type here is sent to a server or stored anywhere. Every calculation runs directly in your browser using the numbers you enter — refresh the page and it's gone, which is exactly how a quick "let me check the numbers" tool should work.
Why it's free
This site is supported by ads rather than subscriptions or sign-ups, which is why it can stay free and open to anyone. Nothing here is a substitute for financial or tax advice — it's built for quick, informational estimates.
How the math works
Each calculator uses standard, publicly documented financial formulas — the same underlying math you'd find in a finance textbook or a spreadsheet, just wired up to update instantly as you type. The dividend tax calculator uses current federal tax brackets and the IRS's own method for stacking qualified dividend income on top of ordinary income. Every tool explains its own math in plain English right on its page.
Found a bug or have an idea for another calculator? Feedback is always welcome — this is a small, independent project, and it gets better with use.
